Fix HDC works great with XP from PATA to PATA but does it also work with Vista/Window7 SATA to SATA?
I'm assuming it does not work trying to go from XP PATA to SATA unless the controller on the new mobo can be set to PATA emulation?
It would be great if you could expound a bit more on the particulars of what combination of controllers will work and which won't and what
workarounds there may be for those that don't (besides the obvious). My apologies if you covered that in the last podcast and I just got lost.

Cary

If you want to take the time, on the customer that restored XP-Home over your the hard work. You could search on files that have a date after you returned the system to him and save only the data files to copy back. after you restore his Image from the old drive that was saved as a backup. Then he could reinstall any new programs he added after you returned the system to him the first time.

Kip -

We were battling a very bad storm on my end while I was recording. That is why I added the comment at the top of the show notes. I did not realize the problem until I started the edit. There was no way to fix it.

I just wanted to let you know that you DO NOT have to register Avira anti virus. I just skip that step and continue to install and it works.
