Let me add that I've used Crucial.com a million times with no problems so its possible that this screw up was only because of the off brand laptop.

Love the list but I'd like to warn everyone not to depend on Crucial.com 100%.
I used it to find out what type of ram to get for a friend's older laptop. It stated that his Everex Stepnote took PC2-5300 ram. I did a bit of additional research and found out that in no way could this laptop run on PC2-5300 ram. It in fact took PC2-4200. I tested out a stick of 5300 and sure enough it was a no go. I called Crucial and they stood firm that 5300 was the only ram this laptop could handle.
Crucial.com can be a valuable tool but I'd recommend additional research before you actually place that order.
As that old carpenter's adage goes, "measure twice, cut once".

I like the podcasts but I am concerned as I have asked a couple of questions and even emailed both of you. Carey's contact form failed to send the email and Mike hasn't responded....You say on the sites that you answer emails...??

@Jonathan
Carey is the KING of analogy and you described him in a very precise way utilizing his analogy form. It was most epic.

Just shot a glance at the pdf and grinned as I scrolled.
Looking fwd to hearing the show.
(I am not even supposed to be online .. vaca/unplug rule broken)

Carey reminds me of the book store clerk. A guy walks into a book store and asks the clerk, "Can you tell me where the self-help books are?" The clerk responds, "I could, but that would defeat the purpose."

Thankyou for the terrific show and compiling your checklist Mike and Carey.
Malwarebytes lead researcher Bruce Harrison, in an interview on Podnutz, said to always use the quick scan. He said that there is no advantage to using the full scan. Also, I did not see SmitFraudFix on the list and was curious as to why.
         Thankyou,    U-Al
