  1. Hey, what a great surprise to find this podcast; it’s a much better listening experience than Mike’s intermittent appearances on CA. I think it is much more dynamic and fluid. I would like to see some kind regular feature such as freeware of the week or a Windows/MAC tip sent in by a listener or suggested by yourself etc. And don’t forget to have a rant spot from time to time – it’s great to hear your personal bugbears as it adds spice to the mix.

  2. I am very excited about this podcast. Congratulations on the collaboration!
The audio quality is wonderful and I like how you chose to intro the show.
    Cannot stop grinning.

I am so thrilled about your new podcast. I can’t wait for the next episode.

Carey Holzman with his computer know how and Mike Smith with his networking experience. Who could want anything else?

Thanks so much Mike and Carey

  10. Best of luck on the new show…I will be looking forward to it. MTS and Computer America makes a long day of work go so much better.

  11. Nice to see you guys together. I have a years full of questions. An empty head. I am ready to learn.

  12. Hey guys,

It’s like “bread and butter” or “peanut butter and jelly”! What an excellent idea for you guys to get together and produce a podcast. I just heard Mike mention this effort on the MTS I loaded on my BlackBerry to listen at work. I was so excited I had to go to your new site, download the episode and listen to it on Winamp on my Windows (eeuwww!) machine.

Congratulations, guys. Good luck. You have listeners.

Using Linux to get things done

(P.S. It’s great to hear both of you guys together without the scratchy AM / phoneline recording.)

  13. Fantastic! I look forward to this, as I respect both of your opinions. I’m interested to hear how you will differentiate this show from your other podcasts. Record away!

  14. Wow. It is nice to see Larry Bushey left a comment. Larry was a big help to me when I was undergoing my Linux for 30 Days project. As per the project, I did not ask for help unless I had exhausted all possible solutions on my own. There were a few tasks I just could not figure out and Larry was quick on his email responses.
I highly recommend his podcast Going Linux

  15. looking forward to listening to the show this morning, Mike. heard about it on the last MTS podcast.

I don’t know about your listeners, but I would love hear about problems your listeners are having. For example: Listeners send in emails (or even call in as guests) talking about a problem they just encountered (fixed or not). If resolved, Mike and Carey can talk about what they would have done differently or if they think what the listener did was a good idea, or turned to the listening community for their input.
I’ve had many instances where I would have loved to share my experiences with NetApps and AD issues, Exchange issues, Content filtering problems, DNS issues, firewall, MPLS, SSL VPN problems, etc.
Our company got bought out last year and I was told I will be losing my job in the summer of 2009, so I have been sitting around the new office just twirling my thumbs and forgetting everything (because they took my servers down and don’t let me touch anything). I’d love to relive those strenuous times and live vivaciously through others! Not to mention trying to keep my mind sharp.

Thanks for all the past years you (Mike and Carey) have quietly helped me out. And thanks for starting up this new podcast!
